You’re clear on your skills. But what are you known for?
Build your foundation before trying to build your audience.
Most people skip the hard bit.
They dive into content.
They start posting.
They chase growth.
But they haven’t actually worked out what they want to be known for.
And if you don’t know - how can your audience?
I see it all the time.
Athletes who’ve just retired.
Coaches turning their knowledge into income.
Experts sitting on years of credibility, but no clear message.
Founders looking for leverage.
They’re trying to build a personal brand, but it’s all surface.
A few posts here. A few likes there.
No real momentum. No real clarity.
Because the foundation’s missing.
And here’s the truth:
Your personal brand isn’t your content.
It’s not your LinkedIn bio.
It’s not your logo or tagline.
It’s the position you occupy in someone else’s mind.
It’s what they say when your name shows up in a meeting.
It’s how they describe you when they recommend you to someone.
And unless you define that intentionally, someone else will do it for you.
That’s why the first step of my Be Known system is always the same:
Define it.
→ Who are you?
→ What do you stand for?
→ Who do you help - and how?
It’s the work no one sees - but it makes everything else work better.
I saw this clearly with Ben (The Rugby Trainer).
Before we built the YouTube channel…
Before we launched the Academy…
Before the partnerships…
We got clear on his position.
What he stood for.
Who he was here to help.
Why his experience mattered.
Where he wanted to go.
And from that moment - the brand started to move.
So if you’re trying to scale something - your audience, your offers, your business - but haven’t done the groundwork to define your brand…
That’s the work.
Not a funnel.
Not a 30-day content sprint.
Just clarity.
On who you are.
And what you want to be known for.
I’ve helped some of the biggest names in sport and business do exactly that through my VIP Strategy Day. Just clarity, positioning, and a plan.
I’ve got space for just 3 of these sessions in June - if it sounds like the right time to get clear and build your brand the right way, just book a call and we can chat.
That’s it for this week.
See you next Thursday.
Keep building,
Alex
